Malcolm A. MacIver

Malcolm MacIver is an assistant professor at Northwestern University, with a joint appointment between biomedical and mechanical engineering and an adjunct appointment in neurobiology and physiology. His research is on the interconnections between biomechanics and neuronal function, particularly as it relates to obtaining information about the world through sensory systems. He uses a combination of biological experiments, large scale simulations, and robotics for understanding these interconnections. He is also interested in bringing research out to the broader community through interactive art installations and through involvement with the Science Entertainment Exchange.
