Rebecca Daugherty, PhD

Assistant Director

Rebecca earned her PhD in cell biology from Northwestern University in 2011. While a graduate student, Rebecca volunteered with the after school science program, Science Club, at the Pedersen-McCormick Boys & Girls Club, where she developed a passion for working with at-risk youth. She has since pursued a career in science education and currently serves as the Assistant Director of Science in Society. For Rebecca, science education offers youth the opportunity to build confidence in their abilities, curiosity about the world, and the skills to become active learners.
