When I first looked at the photo, it looked like a confusing mess of lines, but as I looked closer, I started to see a circular form of lines that almost looked like a crown of thorns. Then I got the idea to mix religion and science together to create juxtaposition.

So, what I did was take a photo of someone who looked like what I thought to be a stereotypical Jesus. To incorporate the photo, I took the circular form and created a crown around the person’s head. To mix the two photos together even more, I used some of the lines to create the sense that they were “crucifying” the arm of my model. Lastly, I added bits and pieces of biblical scripture to add a more graphic element. I made sure the scripture was somewhat legible, but not clear enough that it would take away attention from the focal point.
