When I started I really had no idea what I was going to do. First I put gesso on some parts of the image because I didn’t want to work right on the glossy photo. It was pretty random how I decided to put it on. Then I figured it would be appropriate to paint on the gesso, so I chose a color scheme and started mixing colors on the page. I probably screwed around with color for about an hour before anything emerged, but then I saw what I wanted it to be and put more attention into the brushwork so I could pull together more distinct forms to finish it.
